Short..but funny

Older boy calls his testicles his goolies. Yes, that's a blunt start to the blog but it's needed to explain.

I just need to say it was LUNCH time. Nothing else needs to be said, the picture does it all.

Sick

I thought I'd blog about my last 24 hours. I've been thrown up on more than someone should be really.

So Younger boy had his first sickness bug. It started on Friday night

Younger boys loves his food. For him not to eat defiantly made me know something was wrong.

Later that evening

So after me and Daddy cleaned up the mountains of sick I got Younger boy back in bed and he went straight to sleep. We didn't hear a peep until morning.

Then is was breakfast time

After cleaning up another mountain of sick and Younger boy sleeping most of the day and eating nothing it gets to evening time. Time for more food.

Younger boy is a bit hungry by now and eats a banana

I was so happy, for that split second that there was no sick. When Older boy comes into see us

Lucky me!

Silly

Picture the scene, older boy is chatting away and I'm half listening to him

He says

So I reply with "Pardon?" as I genuinely did not understand a word he just said to me. He replies with

I seriously can not believe he is the same boy who didn't say a word until about 6 months ago!! He's so cheeky!

Do your kids call you names?

Asking why: Part 1

I say Part 1 because the why thing is new and exciting to him so I'm sure there will be a few more why moment

So, older boy has started asking questions. It's fine when it's a question I can answer. Only now questions are starting to get more difficult. And lucky me...we have started with the dreaded WHY?

So the other morning I was helping the boys with their breakfast and while they were eating the kettle switched off (I always boil the kettle while they eat then the coffee will be a drinkable temperature). Older boy says

I answer, "it's the kettle switching off". Happy in the knowledge I have answered the first question of the day with no brain power needed.

He then proceeds with...

I hope my simple answer will suffice.

But no

So I decide to go into more detail

I'm hoping the shock of the over honest answer will stop the why for a bit!!

Buying Calpol

If you have a child, you have Calpol in your house. It's a miracle drug. I wish they made it for adults. It turns a scene like this

Into a scene like this in about 20 minuets

So what I don't understand is why when you go and buy it the person selling it always says

In your head you think

But you say

Smarty pants

So I decide to get the shape shorter out for younger boy to play with. He's very excited at the sight of a new toy.

I show him how it works

But younger boy is smart. He saw how I got the shapes out and does this

Obviously....

Times you'd like the ground to eat you

Toddlers have to learn what is appropriate to say and what isn't. Unfortunately they like to test this and say things very loudly at the wrong time.

Here are 3 of our most recent classic "times I'd like the ground to eat me" moments

On a family walk, a car stops and a man gets out asking for directions

At the swimming baths with Daddy while they are getting dry in the changing rooms

And on a visit to the super market.

How to nurse a 1 year old

Nursing a little baby is nice (well after the first 6 weeks of no one knowing what's going on or what to do and all the pain any crying!!). The baby lays there, eats, burps, sleeps..it's all good.

Then all of a sudden your nursing a 7 month old and the world is interesting and they nurse for 2 seconds then look round, nurse for another 2 second, look again (you get the idea)

Then again, time flashes before your eyes and your nursing a 1 year old. They are quite happy that stuff is going on, only they don't sit still. You start off with good intentions...

Then it starts...the fidgeting...
