Batman

Older boy got a Batman toy from Santa. He does loves superheroes but most toys are aimed at big kids but this particular range is aimed at toddlers. He was very excited and decided to ask super nerd Daddy to tell him all about it

The conversation went like this

Really...What?!?!?!?

kids Christmas party

**WARNING** this is not suitable for children

So (setting the scene), I took the boys to a kids Christmas party. The eldest child there was 6. We were playing party games before Santa came. The game I'm going to talk about is pass the parcel

As we all know, pass the parcel is an innocent game. The music plays-you pass the parcel around, when the music stops the person it lands on opens the parcel

Totally innocent until the parcel is wrapped in newspaper, well The Sun to be exact...

The music stops on Older boy. He eagerly opens the first layer, I help as he's not quite perfected his taking off one layer skills when the next layer reviles

Yes..page 3 of The Sun was the second layer of the pass the parcel wrapping.

NB. I took off another layer before letting the next child have it.

Santa

So, it's July and kids TV is being as seasonal as usual

So I get the question "Who's Santa?" We talk about it, I explain who he is and what he does. It's early but thanks to the TV we are ready and excited about Santa

Every time we see someone with a beard

Sigh. As time goes on it gets a bit more "creative"..

Then December comes, the Christmas decorations are up, when he suddenly decides...

He did go in, and tell Santa he wanted a bag for Nurse Flood (a Fireman Sam toy). And he demanded a refund when Santa gave him a book!

So, we were shopping

Daddy and Younger boy we shopping, me and Older boy were in the queue at the till. Behind us was a sweet girl, around 18 months old with her dad

Older boy says

So I agree when he then says

Again, I agree. He then says, pointing at her dad

Hoping they either haven't heard or the ground will open up, I explain that he has, he's just got clothes on so you can't see it. He then says

Brotherly love

OK, this is a bit soppy, not my usual comedy but my boys really love each other and I want to remember it before they get older and start trying to kill each other

When ever Older boy leaves the room Younger boys sits there and yells

This is close to his name!

When Older boys hears him he comes running in and does this

HEART MELTING!!

It's time to loose weight when..

I know I'm not skinny, and I have a bit of a mummy hang over (if you know what I mean), but Older boy just told me it was time to loose a few punds in the nicest way he can

No!! Thanks!!

Breast fed baby

You can always tell a breast fed baby when you meet one. All you have to do is pick it up and bounce it on your knee for a second

The second the mum hands her baby over she knows what is going through his head....

Then it's only a matter of time before...

Bed time story

So every night either me or Daddy will take Older boy to bed (I always take younger boy to bed but sometimes Daddy is at work at bed time so I take both boys) Every night he will get stories and cuddles and then drinf off to sleep

Tonight it was Daddy taking him to bed. He asked

A bit shocked as he's not done this before Daddy asks

Intrigued to see what he's going to say Daddy listens and Older boys continues:

Slightly amused by the come back, Daddy keeps listening:

Wondering if there might be any more Daddy asks:

With that Older boy goes straight to sleep and daddy rushes downstairs to tell me

So blogging about my Sons story telling might become a regular thing. Or this might be his one and only story. either way I'm very proud of him!!

Watch too much kids TV

My boys love TV. They have their favourite programs (and secretly I do too). But kids TV does something to adults. It gets really stuck in your head like some weird subliminal message and before you know it, it's coming out in your every day speech....

There's the "Baby Jake"

The "Big Cook Little Cook"

The "I Can Cook"

The "Something Special"

And the "Baby Jake"....again (That program is awful for getting into your head!!)

Which kids TV gets stuck in your head?

Short..but funny

Older boy calls his testicles his goolies. Yes, that's a blunt start to the blog but it's needed to explain.

I just need to say it was LUNCH time. Nothing else needs to be said, the picture does it all.

Sick

I thought I'd blog about my last 24 hours. I've been thrown up on more than someone should be really.

So Younger boy had his first sickness bug. It started on Friday night

Younger boys loves his food. For him not to eat defiantly made me know something was wrong.

Later that evening

So after me and Daddy cleaned up the mountains of sick I got Younger boy back in bed and he went straight to sleep. We didn't hear a peep until morning.

Then is was breakfast time

After cleaning up another mountain of sick and Younger boy sleeping most of the day and eating nothing it gets to evening time. Time for more food.

Younger boy is a bit hungry by now and eats a banana

I was so happy, for that split second that there was no sick. When Older boy comes into see us

Lucky me!

Silly

Picture the scene, older boy is chatting away and I'm half listening to him

He says

So I reply with "Pardon?" as I genuinely did not understand a word he just said to me. He replies with

I seriously can not believe he is the same boy who didn't say a word until about 6 months ago!! He's so cheeky!

Do your kids call you names?

Asking why: Part 1

I say Part 1 because the why thing is new and exciting to him so I'm sure there will be a few more why moment

So, older boy has started asking questions. It's fine when it's a question I can answer. Only now questions are starting to get more difficult. And lucky me...we have started with the dreaded WHY?

So the other morning I was helping the boys with their breakfast and while they were eating the kettle switched off (I always boil the kettle while they eat then the coffee will be a drinkable temperature). Older boy says

I answer, "it's the kettle switching off". Happy in the knowledge I have answered the first question of the day with no brain power needed.

He then proceeds with...

I hope my simple answer will suffice.

But no

So I decide to go into more detail

I'm hoping the shock of the over honest answer will stop the why for a bit!!
